Summer guide to avoiding intimate problems

Summer - a wonderful season for sun, swimming and relaxation. Ice cream, sand between your toes and endless days at the beach or on the water. But if we're honest, there are some challenges that can make even the most well-planned summer feel a little... ...uncomfortable. Yes, we're talking about the unwelcome discomforts that can crop up when you're walking around in damp swimwear and splashing around in pools and oceans. But don't worry, we at VagiVital have the tips and products to help you enjoy the summer to the fullest without any worries ❤️

Here are some of the most common summertime intimate problems, with their causes, symptoms and how to prevent them:

🌸 Cause: Fungal infections occur when your privates become warm and moist, which is almost inevitable when you're living your best summer life in wet swimwear.

🌸 Symptoms: Itching, burning and whitish, cloudy discharge.

🌸 Prevention: Change into dry clothes after bathing. Choose airy, breathable clothing - your best friend is now cotton! We don't currently have any studies proving that our bestseller VagiVital AktivGel can treat fungal infections, but many of our customers tell us that using AktivGel for a while has helped them prevent recurring fungal infections, which is a bonus ❤️

🌸 Cause: The ratio of good to bad bacteria in the vagina can be disturbed, especially after bathing in chlorinated or salt water.
🌸 Symptoms: Thin, greyish discharge with a distinct fishy smell (not the fresh sea breeze we all want).
🌸 Prevention: Rinse off with clean water after bathing, avoid intimate hygiene products containing soap (even gentle soap) or perfume.
🌸 Treatment of bacterial vaginosis: Use Vernvia vaginal mousse by VagiVital NO LINK FOUND which treats bacterial vaginosis within 7 days and relieves foul-smelling discharge within 12 hours 🙌

🌸 Cause: Bacteria that find their way into the urethra, often exacerbated by long days in swimwear and perhaps a little too much beach time without a toilet break.
🌸 Symptoms: Sweating when urinating, frequent urination and vaginal pain.
🌸 Prevention: Drink plenty of water, make sure to urinate after bathing and sex.

Dry and sensitive mucous membranes can also affect the tissues of the urinary tract, including the urethra and bladder, making them more susceptible to infections. As the tissues of the urinary tract become thinner and less elastic, the urethra can become irritated and inflamed, which can lead to urinary tract infections. We have no studies with VagiVital AktivGel linked directly to UTIs, but since the gel strengthens and moisturises the mucous membranes, this may be why so many of our customers report that the gel has also helped them prevent UTIs.

🌸 Cause: Dry mucous membranes can occur even in younger women, and are often exacerbated by chlorinated water and excessive sun exposure that dries out the skin and mucous membranes.
🌸 Symptoms: Dryness, irritation, itching, burning, painful cracks and discomfort (not exactly what you want when you're enjoying summer).

🌸 Prevention: Make sure to rinse off with clean water after swimming in the pool or sea to remove any chlorine or salt that can irritate and dry out mucous membranes. NEVER wash your genitals with products containing soap or perfume (yes, we've talked about this before, but it's important❤️) as this irritates and dries out the mucous membranes. If you haven't yet tried our own intensely moisturising intimate wash VagiVital V Cleanser, don't - you'll never want to use any other type of intimate care product 😊 V Cleanser intimate wash is based on our bestseller AktivGel with the same unique moisturising properties and is also 100% soap and fragrance free - for daily intimate care 🙌.

🌸 Treat dry mucous membranes: Luckily, there's a hormone-free solution for dry mucous membranes! VagiVital AktivGel is a non-sticky vaginal gel that has been studied at Swedish university hospitals. The findings show that VagiVital AktivGel reduces symptoms of vaginal dryness, including itching, irritation and pain during intercourse and urination, and improves the management of urinary incontinence.

🌸 Cause: Chemicals in swimming pools or salt in seawater can irritate skin and mucous membranes.
🌸 Symptoms: Redness, itching and dryness.
🌸 Prevention: Rinse off salt and chlorine with clean water immediately after bathing. Make sure to choose 100% soap-free and fragrance-free products for intimate washing. In addition, chemicals in perfumes, detergents and fabric softeners can irritate the skin. By wearing cotton underwear, you allow the skin to breathe and reduce the risk of moisture and heat build-up, which can aggravate eczema. After swimming - change to dry underwear to avoid leaving moisture on the skin, which can aggravate eczema.

  1. Change immediately: Sitting in wet swimwear is an easy way to get yourself into trouble. Change into dry clothes as soon as you can after bathing.
  2. Rinse off: After a dip in the pool or sea, rinse off with clean water to remove chlorine and salt.
  3. Choose the right swimwear: Wear swimwear in materials that breathe and dry quickly. Avoid synthetic materials that retain moisture.
  4. Pee after intercourse: If your sex life is heating up this summer, make sure you pee after intercourse to reduce the risk of infections.
  5. Avoid tight clothing: Wear airy and comfortable clothes to avoid unnecessary irritation and moisture build-up in the genital area.
  6. Mild intimate wash: Use a gentle, moisturising intimate wash such as VagiVital V Cleanser to keep your genitals clean without drying them out. It's available in 3-packs with a 10% discount - perfect for stocking up for summer!

We at VagiVital wish you a wonderful summer filled with joy, relaxation and lots of swimming!

Take care of yourself and Stay Pussytive this summer ❤️
