Sjögren's syndrome: What is it and how can you alleviate it?

We receive regular reviews about VagiVital AktivGel from women who have been helped with Sjögren's syndrome. Their descriptions are about pain and suffering, but also about hope and relief ❤️

WHAT IS SJÖGREN'S SYNDROME?

Sjögren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the body's own moisture-producing glands. This causes dryness in areas such as the eyes, mouth and abdomen. The disease is named after the Swedish doctor Henrik Sjögren, who first described it in 1933.

SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS

The most common symptoms of Sjögren's syndrome are

🌸 Dry eyes (feeling of grit or sand)

🌸 Dry mouth (difficulty swallowing or speaking)

🌸 Dryness in the abdomen (discomfort during intercourse)

🌸 Fatigue

🌸 Joint and muscle pain

The diagnosis is often made using blood tests, which show specific antibodies, and various tests to measure moisture production in the eyes and mouth.

CAUSES AND RESEARCH

Research on Sjögren's syndrome is ongoing to better understand the disease and develop new treatments. Recent studies show that genetic factors may play an important role, but environmental factors and hormonal changes may also contribute to triggering the disease.

One interesting study published in the Journal of Autoimmunity points to a link between hormonal imbalance and the onset of Sjögren's syndrome, which may explain why the disease often starts in menopausal women.

PERSONAL STORIES

Several of our customers share their personal experiences of Sjögren's syndrome and how VagiVital AktivGel has helped them. One of our customers, Maria, tells us:

“I've struggled with Sjögren's syndrome for many years, and one of the biggest challenges has been the dryness in my genitals. It not only affected my sex life, but also my daily comfort. When I started using AktivGel, I noticed a big difference. The moisturising effect made me feel much more comfortable and confident.”
