Maybe it's because I'm having an ongoing 50-year crisis, which I've denied until now, or because my menstrual cycle now varies between 19 and 90 days, which makes me frustrated and a little off balance. But to be honest, I get quite depressed when I google "climacteric" (also known as menopause). I miss online content that reflects the strength, confidence and beauty I see every day in my fellow 50+ sisters Here are some short snippets of the first sentences I read after googling "Climacteric"

"...Climacteric is the time in life when ovarian function declines, menstruation ceases and the hormonal balance in the body changes..."

"... Climacteric is a stage in life when the body undergoes changes. You get your last period and can no longer get pregnant. Some people experience problems and feel unwell..."

"...Climacteric is the point in life when ovarian function declines and menstruation ceases. The levels of female sex hormones drop, and the body is affected in several ways..."

"... Climacteric lasts between five and ten years before and after the last menstrual period. This is longer than most people realize..."

Not very pleasant, eh?

For many women, climacteric can be very tough, but it can't all be about the negative, can it? I wish we could also look at the climacteric as a "climax". CLIMAXeric? (this is why I like the word, instead of menopause), with an upward curve where life can gradually become easier, more fun and more enjoyable in many ways. Because there is actually a lot that is PUSSYTIVE ❤.

Climacteric has often been seen as a period of loss, but let's rethink this perspective. What if we could also see it as a time of renewal and strength? Let's look at some of the positive aspects of menopause and find out why this phase of life can also be one of the most liberating and rewarding!

1. Harmonious hormonal balance

After climacteric, many women experience a more even hormonal balance, which can lead to a more stable mood. A study published in the journal Menopause found that post-menopausal women reported fewer mood swings and an overall better quality of life. Without the monthly cycle of hormonal peaks and troughs, many women feel more balanced and centered.

2. No more periods

Getting rid of your period can be a huge relief. In addition to the obvious physical benefits, such as no more period pain and discomfort, there are also psychological benefits. A study in the Journal of Women's Health found that many women reported an increased sense of freedom and independence when they no longer had to deal with periods.

3. Better sex life

Although there are myths to the contrary, research has shown that many women experience increased sexual desire and satisfaction after menopause. According to a report from the North American Menopause Society, reduced concerns about pregnancy and increased self-awareness can lead to renewed intimacy and pleasure.

4. Financial independence

Many 50+ women are experiencing a time of financial prosperity. A report from the National Bureau of Economic Research shows that women at this age are more likely to make financial decisions that promote their long-term wellbeing, giving them greater financial freedom and security.

5. Their career is at its peak

After years of hard work and dedication, many women can experience the most rewarding parts of their careers after menopause. According to the Harvard Business Review, women over 50 are one of the fastest growing groups of entrepreneurs, showing that this phase can be a time for professional renewal and innovation.

6. Personal development

Menopause can be a time for inner reflection and personal growth. A study in the Journal of Aging Studies found that many women experienced increased self-awareness and a renewed sense of purpose during this phase, leading to a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.
